NOTICE OF BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Two public meetings of the Budget Committee of the Upper Willamette Soil & Water Conservation District, Lane County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, will be held in the months of March and April 2022. In response to the uncertainty of the health emergency resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings are being held electronically. The first meeting will be held March 22, 2022, at 1:00 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to receive the budget message. This is a public meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. An additional, separate meeting of the Budget Committee will be held to take public comment. Any person may appear at the meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee. The meeting for public comment will be on April 5, 2022, at 1:00 pm.
The meetings will be available for attending via Zoom. The information to join is available on the District website at: www.uwswcd.org/about/meetings/.
Public comment will be taken in written and verbal format. Written comments received by 4:30 pm on April 4, 2022 will be read during the public comment section of the meeting on April 5, 2022. Verbal comments will be taken on a scheduled basis during the public comment section of the meeting on April 5, 2022. Comments, both written and verbal, will be subject to a three minute limit per community member. Citizen Budget Committee Members
This committee serves as the District’s fiscal planning advisory committee for the proposed Annual Budget. Every year UWSWCD looks to add members from our community. While the application is open and collected year round, the applications are reviewed and selected at the February board meeting each year.
Membership: The committee shall consist of Board of Directors of the District, plus up to 7 registered voters who reside within the District’s boundaries.
Time Commitment: 6-8 hours scheduled in March & April; Some other meetings possible.
Meeting Times: One (1) meeting in March and one (1) meeting in April as the District budget is prepared. Scheduled meetings shall be held virtually in 2022 due to Covid-19 state restrictions.
Qualifications: Must be a registered voter in Lane County and reside within the Upper Willamette Soil and Water Conservation District boundaries.
Term Length: 3 years.
