The Upper Willamette Soil and Water Conservation District seeks an interdisciplinary, skilled, dynamic individual to join our team as a Restoration Specialist. This position will work collaboratively with current staff, private landowners, public land managers, Tribes, agencies, and other nonprofit partners. Primary duties include project management, restoration design and implementation, and community engagement, to support projects that restore ecological processes and function within the McKenzie River Sub-basin. The position will focus on wildfire recovery efforts on private lands impacted by the Holiday Farm Fire. The position will work directly with a collaborative team organized through the Pure Waters Partners, www.purewaterpartners.org and will be supervised by the Conservation Program Manager with support from partners at the McKenzie Watershed Council, Eugene Water & Electric Board, and the McKenzie River Trust —all core partners in the Pure Water Partners. Secondary responsibilities will be the same duties to support conservation and restoration in the broader scope of the UWSWCD geographic boundaries.
This position has a starting salary of $53,392. The district provides a generous benefits package to each employee that includes employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 457b retirement benefit with up to a 6% employer match contribution, eleven paid holidays, alternative/flexible work schedules, personal time, sick leave, and vacation leave.

These three successful candidates will be trained as a cohort, with training being led by Watershed Council and Soil and Water Conservation District staff.
